Bovine Product Sales and Consulting

Dr. Slagle has been a part of Ramaekers Nutrition since 1972.

In 1972, Dr. Slagle met Dr. Ramaekers at a large animal practice. They became friends with mutual interests and would attend the AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) conventions each year.

Transfer Factor

In 1999, a small animal practitioner introduced Dr. Slagle to a human product called Transfer Factor (TF). Dr. Slagle decided to try this so-called "miracle treatment" in his large animal practice.

He had three extremely sick foals visit his practice over a three-week period. Each had various infections that had a 10% chance of survival. He used standard treatments combined with Transfer Factor Plus (TF). And to Dr. Slagle’s astonishment, all three patients responded in record time and were all saved. He was sold. This so-called "miracle treatment" Transfer Factor (TF) was the real deal.

Synergistic Effect

Dr. Slagle called Dr. Ramaekers, as he knew he was a master formulator. Once Dr. Ramaekers realized the potential for Transfer Factor (TF), he combined it with his already successful array of products and saw its synergistic effect on helping patients.

Ramaekers Nutrition

In December 1999, at an AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) Convention, Dr. Slagle and Dr. Ramaekers officially began their adventure of formulating Transfer Factor Plus (TF) nutritional supplements for animals.

Getting the Word Out

Ramaekers Nutrition first exhibited its product line at the 2000 AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners) in Denver. Before Covid, they did 5-8 shows annually across the country. This past year. They did four shows.

Since 1999, Dr. Slagle has focused on the effects of immune modulation to improve the number of successes in his practice.

Education and Experience

Dr. Slagle graduated from the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1968. He specialized in large animal medicine.
After graduation, he spent four years as a veterinary officer in the USAF.
After returning from the Air Force, he opened his large animal practice, predominately equine, and he was a Sole practitioner in Granite Bay, California, until 2013.

Through education, Dr. Slagle enjoys showing veterinarians, producers, and growers a better way to approach animal wellness that is safe, healthy, effective, natural, and good for the environment.

Dr. Slagle enjoys many aspects of Large Animal Medicine. Most importantly, he enjoys helping animals and people. The following are his focus.

On the equine side, he enjoys working with horses and the challenging cases they present.

Seed Stock

In 2013, Dr. Slagle moved to his ranch in La Grande, located in North East Oregon, where he raises Full Blood Wagyu cattle seed stock.

Product Distribution

Dr. Ramaekers and Dr. Slagle went to 4Life Research with their findings, and Dr. Ramaekers introduced his product line. Transfer Factor Plus (TF), combined with his successful array of products, creates an effective and user-friendly product for dogs and cats. Eventually, he added a line for horses and newborn livestock. These products were sold to veterinarians as well as 4Life distributors.
