My 8-year-old Boxer, Lincoln, was diagnosed just before Christmas with seizures caused by Canine Glioma (malignant brain tumors usually found deep within the brain tissue).

I was told canine gliomas were an aggressive tumor, and he might only have up to 2 months. Heinrich was diagnosed with a large cancerous mass on his basihyoid bone in August 2023 (either osteosarcoma or chondrosarcoma). It was too risky to do a biopsy or attempt surgical removal because it was so vascular. The surgeon said the mass had consumed the basihyoid bone; it wasn’t even visible on the CT scan. He said he’d never seen anything like it before.

We drove to Cincinnati (a 2-hour trip) every Monday for six weeks for radiation. The radiologist indicated that six months of no growth and six months of slow growth would be a good outcome, but radiation would not cure it. Two weeks after radiation ended, around Thanksgiving, I was allowed to start giving him the Professional Immune Tabs. I discovered them while researching what else I could do to help him. My local vet had never heard of them, and neither had his radiologist.

My goals for Heinrich and his cancerous mass on the basihyoid bone were to be around for Christmas (he was), then a beach trip to Outer Banks (he enjoyed his beach walks), and now it’s for his 11th birthday in February (and hopefully many more!). He is doing GREAT.

Hoglet is a little 13.5-year-old mixed-breed dog. This puppy was born via cesarean section while I was working at an emergency vet. The owner couldn’t pay for the emergency surgery, so I took over custody and assisted the vet with his birth. 

Three pups survived, but Hoglet was my favorite from day 1. Boisterous, adventurous, and always a handful—he was definitely my boy!

Hoglet escaped the puppy room one day and tried to climb into bed with my older, grumpy, large dog, and, unfortunately, he was bitten in the head. I rushed him to the emergency room, but his eye was lost.

He also sustained damage to his skull, but as he was so small, all we could do was let it heal and see how he did. Fortunately, he did just fine! He can fetch with the best of them!

Over the years, however, his wounded area started to change. At some point, I realized it was growing and took him in for a CT scan, which revealed cancer, inoperable and terminal (likely due to his previous injury). It was inoperable and certainly terminal. I was devastated.

I sent him in for palliative radiation and acupuncture, and then started Ramaekers Professional Immune Powder. He had been pretty slow after receiving the radiation, and we thought it was near his time, but then we started the powder, and about a week later, he was playing again! 

I was amazed at how different he was after having his daily powder. 

At one point, we ran out of powder and couldn’t afford to buy more, and he definitely started going downhill after about a week or so. Luckily, we got some extra income and could start him back up again. 

He recovered again and is still doing well (1.5 years post-diagnosis—cancer inoperable, terminal)!

We adopted Kaya from a Los Angeles shelter in really bad shape and brought her back to health. She had lacerations on her body and had an upper respiratory infection. My Great Dane, Bigger, had cancer.
