EOSINOPHILIC GRANULOMA COMPLEX / RODENT ULCER

Age/Sex/Breed: 6-year-old male DLH

History:

11/1/2002 – Mombasa was presented with severe inflammation and erosion of the upper lip. Previous treatments included high doses of prednisone, which induced hair loss and gradual deterioration of the lip tissue.

Therapy:

01/17/2003 – Within two months, there were marked improvements, including significantly reduced inflammation and swelling.

02/12/2004 – After one year of immune supplementation, the autoimmune condition stabilized, the skin condition was excellent, and Mombosa no longer required prednisone. This was a prolonged and challenging case, but the owners were very pleased!!
